Hang Your Hat… and Heart

Home is more than just where you hang your hat, it’s where you hang your heart. Life is shared with family, friends, and neighbors—the people who you open your home to. Think of Red Rose Village as an extension of your home, and a place where your family shares special times with the special people in your lives. It’s the people in our neighborhood that truly make it a community. Enjoy a pleasant evening stroll with friends while children play at the pavilion.

Living Amid History

Well before the American Revolution, Fredericksburg was a thriving area. George Washington grew up here on the banks of the Rappahannock, across the river from John Paul Jones’ home. James Monroe practiced law downtown.   Clara Barton and Walt Whitman tended to wounded soliders after the bloody Battle of Fredericksburg. James Farmer, a Freedom Ride organizer, taught at Mary Washington College. Link Wray created the power chord here in 1958, and Danny McBride grew up in Spotsylvania.

Activities & Recreation

Straddling Virginia’s Piedmont and Tidewater regions, the Fredericksburg Area offers year-round outdoor activities at its many parks, scenic trails, rivers, and lakes. Many enjoy the shops, galleries and restaurants of the 40-block Historic District. Boat, swim, hike and picnic at popular Lake Anna State Park, fish the Rappahannock and Rapidan Rivers, go rock climbing at Virginia Outdoor Center. Nature walks and horseback riding, kayaking, biking, and golf – it’s all close to home.
